So I wanted to go to Groezrock hang out with a few friends theres but going from Glasgow without paying some exorbitant prices was quite a mission so I decided on a little vacation to my city of birth, Paris, where a few events where happening on the same week and then figure out if I was going to go to Groezrock for a day from there… I did not want to go for a whole week at first but the bank holiday weekend did not give me any other choice and it ended up being one the of the best weeks I’ve had in a while!
Left at 6am, went for lunch as soon as I got to my friends house and got to celebrate her birthday at a girls dinner party, had some catching up dinners with others around lots of gorgeous food, left for a day of Groezrock on the Saturday at 5.30am, had an amazing time there (everything that could happen at a festival happened in less than 24hours I think!), made it back to Paris and straight to a gig, had to say goodbyes (sad times…), washed, slept, went straight to the Batofar for another show, slept, chilled and it was already time to head back to Glasgow!
Here are a few photos and their captions to try and illustrate all that happened within a week:
First meal – Duck.
Second meal ended with a homemade tart and champagne.
Potatoes, Parma Ham and Roasted Camembert SALAD. I didn’t touch the salad.
Aurelia and myself with our long lost friend Valery found in the randomness of the merch tent at Groezrock!
Comeback Kid rocked the crowds. Video to show.
No crash barriers at the stage where The Ghost Inside were playing. This is the result.
Boysetsfire are back. LOTS of memories for my best friend Sophie and myself. I was alone to recover them all but it was still pretty intense… here are a couple of videos for your own listening pleasure.
Jeremy and his buddy from Descendents.
Old friend Steven from An Albatross was here with another band and we got to hang out along with Aurelia and Jeremy. Good times!
Just “Hanging”. You know.
Party time at the end of the day. Beers on belgian soil with the lovelies Andrew and Dave.
In Paris on our way to the Eiffel Tower.
We had a walk through Paris and Jeremy needed a piss…
Da Vinci Code.
Jeremy the french.
A nicely packed venue for tonight’s line up. Paris is always so tiny, I will always miss this! Showtime here is a small video:
Goodbyes exchanged. Spotted Bailey giving it a try at driving the tourbus… oops.
