Photos / Fun – PARIS 3/3 & BIFFY CLYRO @ Boule Noire.

2010/11/16

Monday 1st November and Tuesday 2nd November 2010 > Paris.

-Monday I hung out with Jb and Perrine. So nice to see them as it has been litterally years as well. Around the Printemps, Galleries Lafayettes and Opera, with a stop in Starbucks and Repetto.

I then went to meet up with Gordon and had a little Paris visit up the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame with a quick stop at the Who’s Bar where Alain & Bruno were playing – so nice to be back in this place. It feels weird and as if it was another life, not the one I am leading now. Nice memories and hangouts for a busy day again!

- Tuesday was my last day in Paris and it felt both sad and relieving. I was dying most of the day of tiredness but made it to the Boule Noire where I met up with Pierre for BIFFY CLYRO that night. The band played an excellent set to an excited crowd even though they were apparently not in the mood, having brought a ton of equipment for this tiny venue they probably did not expect to play, it being the last day of the tour and people being loud as they were on stage. General feeling was great though and the band did bring out their energy despite all the details – the fans were glad.

Seeing SO many faces and mostly the Totally unexpected ones was definitely a high end of the week round the local PMU – same venue, same pmu, same people than over 5 years ago… again this was a strange feeling for me. All that I left behind and do miss sometimes but do not consider as being part of my current life. Weird.

NOT Happy!

end of my Paris adventures!

Photos / Fun – PARIS 2/3 & DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL @ Batofar.

2010/11/16

Sunday  31st October 2010 > Paris.

-Sunday I went to meet up with Jeff, Noella and her husband and child. Crazy how things change. The last time I saw her was over 3.5  years ago when I was still living in Paris as she moved to Japan then, got married and had a child! Very nice to catch up. Too short though!

I then went to the Champs Elysee to meet Aurelie for a little shopping spree and then onto a Packed Batofar for an impressive performance from DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL. The boys never fail to impress and the crowd tonight is well into it. Back from a recent russian tour they are now onto another european one, supporting the release of  “Blessed and Cursed” earlier this July 2010.

It’s not every day that people get to witness and hear quality music… As some of the bands proved me tonight again. I do not miss french music at all!

A special point for Branson Hollis though who surprised me with their music and similar style to DSHS. A nice addition to the bill, check them out - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Branson-Hollis

Photos / Fun – PARIS 1/3 & NEVER SAY DIE tour (Paris).

2010/11/16

Thursday 28th October – Friday 29th October – Saturday 30th October 2010 > PARIS.

I have barely been back to Paris since I suddenly moved to London, in July 2007. It has now been almost 3.5 years and I cannot believe it… What have I done since I moved? How did that all happen? It remains a mystery to me.

First arrived in London for work, then stayed 2 extra months on holidays and somehow found a job that led me to renting my own flat and staying on until now…

Being back in Paris involves a lot of running around, from trying to catch up with everyone back there, to meeting up with new friends, juggling between the events happening there while I chose to go back and the extras on the side!

I tried to resume these events into one but it’s impossible to describe, add the images and videos all in one post so here are a few posts for you.

-Thursday night was chilled night, from a nice thai restaurant (but horrible service – 3 hours to be served/eat!!!) with the girls in rue Tiquetonne to the Truskel for a few drinks meeting other to the Regine Club where a friend was djing. Late night and too much vodka.

-Friday was a busy day but still very chilled, a lunch with the old boss at an italian restaurant rue Montorgueil, a chilled afternoon visiting a friend’s new jewelery shop in Temple about to open the following Thursday and a night out at Aurelie’s brother’s birthday bash in a champagne bar and then onto the bar Furieux in Bastille with some old faces.

-Saturday was the day the NEVER SAY DIE TOUR went through Paris and here I am opposite the Elysee Montmatre super early as doors were at 4.30pm! – Meeting up with Andrew and Jeremy on the “island by the toilets” ahah – A quick walk around Montmartre and here I am indoors. This day is a huge deal for Paris and France for that type of music and the venue ended up packed to a pretty much sold out show. Impressive. Nice catch ups, show and hang outs despite the very early bus call tonight. 11pm. See you in London all!
